Management of post-surgery knee AMI

A study published in the scientific journal Sports Health highlights the clinical benefits of a 1-hour neuromotor reprogramming session.

In line with a previous study showing the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in post-sprain and knee surgery rehabilitation, this publication confirms the value of integrating Allyane into a comprehensive rehabilitation approach.

Effects of low-frequency sounds on brain plasticity

Different auditory stimulations were compared, including some already recognized and used clinically. Analyses of brain power and connectivity show that the low-frequency sounds emitted by our medical device induce greater activation of motor regions, both in terms of connectivity and power.

This specific characteristic is what makes Allyane unique today.

Neuromotor reprogramming: the fundamentals

Correlations between performance and brain activity show that the addition of low-frequency sounds induces specific neuronal modulation, distinct from that observed with motor imagery alone, thus reinforcing the neurophysiological basis of neuromotor reprogramming.

Mental imagery and its impact on motor skills

Mental imagery is based on neurofunctional equivalence: thinking about the action uses almost the same areas of the brain as actually performing the action itself.

Motor imagery influences neuroplasticity, that is, the ability of neurons to change throughout life. This can have an impact on the intensity of muscle contraction or the speed of movement, for example.

There is a neurofunctional equivalence, now widely demonstrated by various scientific data, between motor imagery and actual execution.

Cereb Cortex. 2008 Dec;18(12):2775-88. https://doi.org/10.1093/cercor/bhn036Epub 2008 Mar 20.

Furthermore, we know that neuronal activity and neuroplasticity are modulated by the quality and precision of the imaging, for example when imagining a movement of high or low intensity or as a function of the speed of the movement.
