Sandrine Foubert & Julien Frohberg are physiotherapists and certified Allyane practitioners since April 2019. They explain how they develop their clientele, their approach to prescribers, and the contribution of the method to their practice as physiotherapists.

How did you inform your patients about your new specialization? What was their reaction?

Word of mouth is very important. Patients are curious to learn about this innovative new method that integrates the brain into rehabilitation.

Initially, patients are a little surprised by this innovative method. However, patients who have undergone an Allyane session are quite impressed by the results.

How did you find patients? Did you find them among your current patients?

Many of our patients come from our current patient base, the others are referred by the Lyon Movement Expert CenterFrom our prescribing doctor, from news reports or the internet. Word of mouth is also important.

What are the contributions of the Allyane method to your patient care? On which clinical indications do you most often work with Allyane?

La Allyane therapy allowed me to refine my assessment, to systematically integrate the patient's feelings about the quality of their muscle contraction or movement, and also to work with motor imagery.

I find that this method saves a lot of time in rehabilitation. It helps patients who had sometimes reached a point of saturation in their care, particularly in neurology.

The clinical indications I work on most are traumatic pathologies of the lower limbs, the perineum and neurological pathologies.

For me, Allyane is an additional tool that has allowed us to take into account the sensation when we perform a movement.

I most often work on sequelae or complications in traumatology/rheumatology (limping, pain caused by disturbed motor patterns in the lower and upper limbs…).

What are your plans with Allyane as physiotherapists?

We are creating a dedicated Allyane center to conduct our sessions. This would allow us to welcome patients in optimal conditions and to host future colleagues who wish to train in the method.

I hope to soon be able to split my time 50/50 between my physiotherapy practice and Allyane.

I want to attract the curiosity of other prescribing physicians and therefore continue to develop our activity around Allyane, and also to help advance research.
